KTM 1190 RC8

The world’s leading manufacturer of off-road bikes has already proved itself with its innovations and has also caused a sensation with its outstandingly dynamic factory riders on the road racing circuit. Now KTM takes another crucial step towards having a complete range of unmistakable sports machines. At the heart of the 1190 RC8 is the completely newly developed supersport two-cylinder based on the well known LC8 range of engines, which, with a top performance of 155 hp and a maximum amount of torque of 120 Nm delivers an overwhelming amount of power to the rider. A unique light tubular steel frame, highest quality suspension and brake components and unusual technical solutions such as the exhaust positioned under the bike complete the 1190 RC8, which weighs just 200kg with a full tank. The result is a Superbike that truly lives up to its name in every sense of the word.

Ducati Monster 696

The new Ducati Monster 696 represents the next generation and what Ducati calls "the final word in urban excitement". The Monster 696 looks like it would be fun either on your favorite downtown routes or unleashed, where it should deliver more performance than ever before. The engine of the new 696 is an evolution of the previous 695 version. Measuring 696cc, it boasts a series of updates and refinements.Power output gets a 9% boost to 80 hp (59 kW) and an 11% increase in torque to 50.6 lb-ft. This new engine continues to have the best horsepower per liter ratio of all Ducati’s air-cooled units, and it ensures a smooth and powerful delivery for a relaxed but thrilling ride in all conditions. This increase in power has been achieved by the introduction of new cylinder heads, which are now similar to those fitted on the 1100 2V engine fitted to the Multistrada and Hypermotard. Bore and stroke remain identical to the previous 695 model at 88 x 57.2 mm, but the pistons and combustion chamber have been revised to optimize the fluid dynamics of the new ports.

The Honda Foreman nameplate suggests it’s an overseer, the chief who supervises the rest. As a veteran in the ATV workforce, the Foreman has had to earn its name within a morphing fleet of Honda ATVs. But the Foreman models — in need of a trendy makeover — were starting to show their age. After surviving several years without major change, Honda decided it was time to reinvigorate the Foreman’s look and attitude with youthful exuberance inside and out.
After more than a year of R&D efforts, three fresh 2005 Foreman 500 models were unleashed from Honda and sent to Georgia for our testing gauntlet. Upon first look, the ’05 Foreman is a drastic change from the TRX450 with ESP (Electronic Shift Program) that received ATV Magazine’s ATV of the Year in 1998. The revamped Foreman, one of Honda’s more popular models, vaults into the same class as its bigger brother, the Rubicon TRX500, but with 25cc less displacement.
The Foreman, for the first time, is now available in 2WD with conventional shifting and an affordable sticker price ($5,299). The traditional manual-shift 4WD and 4WD ES that allow for shifting with your left thumb — both with the on-demand option of automatic — are once again offered.

Between 1995 and 2003, BMW has sold more than 110,000 F 650s, with 32 percent of the latest versions going to female riders worldwide). What's more, some 21 percent of F 650 buyers were new riders. And now, for the 2005 model year, BMW's entry in the amazing category returns refined, refreshed and ready to do business. Crossing continents, crossing boundaries
No motorcycle can do everything, but the BMW F 650 GS and the F 650 GS Dakar come close. Based on the fundamentally flexible "enduro" concept, the F 650 line has been carefully developed to meet a broad range of requirements, to enable cross-country travel in comfort as well as jaunts across town with consummate ease.
For example, the Dakar, with dirt-spec tire sizes and long-travel suspension, can truly be taken off road (unlike many similarly concepted but differently equipped enduros on the market) and yet sacrifices nothing in terms of on-road civility.
Central to this multi-role versatility is the F 650's relaxed, upright riding position that is the ideal compromise between on-road comfort and off-road control. For the new F 650 GS and F 650 GS Dakar, BMW has focused on improving the bike's ergonomic profile and making it even kinder to beginning and returning riders.
To this end, a new clutch lever featuring incremental span adjustments that provide riders with smaller hands improved control and comfort (an adjustable brake lever continues as standard.)
New this year are myriad seating options for both the F 650 GS and the F 650 GS Dakar.
The GS comes with a standard low seat, and yet there is the option for an even lower seat height - as a no-cost option, the GS can be modified by the dealer with a different rear suspension link that, working in concert with repositioned fork tubes, reduces seat height to 29.5 in. (750mm).
In addition, a taller seat is available for the GS that provides taller riders with extra legroom. A lower dual seat is available for the Dakar that reduces seat height 0.8 in. (20mm).
The GS's overall compact dimensions are made possible by a slender engine and a fuel tank located under the seat. Not only does this placement improve chassis packaging, it dramatically reduces the bike's overall center of gravity, making the GS feel smaller and lighter - considerations critical to the beginning rider.

Suzuki Hayabusa

Competition in the hyper sport bike segment would increase with the release of motorcycles like the BMW K1200S, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R, and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14. This increased competition would eventually lead to Suzuki heavily revising the GSX1300R for the 2008 model year. Suzuki dropped the GSX1300R designation and simply called the motorcycle the Hayabusa. The engine size was increased to 1340 cc with the compression ratio increasing to 12.5:1. The revised mill has a claimed 12% increase in power.Fuel is now fed through a pair of new 44 mm Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) throttle bodies. The Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS), a technology introduced on the GSX-R line of motorcycles, provides three options of power delivery for a range of touring to wide open high performance. Some of the more notable features include a new 4-2-1-2 exhaust system meets Euro 3 and Tier 2 emission regulations, a slipper clutch, and redesigned bodywork. Performance numbers have not been released, nor has the bike been tested by print or online media publications yet.
